RECORD SALES MONTH FOR POSTAL AUTOMATION

Prime Vision’s latest trade statistics are proof positive that postal organisations across the world are continuing to invest in automation to underpin their profitability.  The company has just reported its highest ever July sales with bookings exceeding 400% of the latest five years average.  Customers in Germany, UK, New Zealand, Ireland and Finland were among the top spenders.

“July has been a landmark month for us and this clearly demonstrates there is a lot of confidence in the market,” explained Prime Vision’s Marketing Director, Mark Ryder. “Posts are moving forward with major projects and investments in their processing infrastructure and wanting to harness those benefits in their businesses as soon as possible.”

The trend is interesting too for Prime Vision as it is for a good mix of products.  In the year 2013/14 posts were clearly fine tuning their processes to achieve the best possible productivity.  For Prime Vision this has meant growing demand for newly developed products such as its assisted sorting cabinets, Prime Smart Systems, that are being adopted to automate the sorting of small batch and specialised mail.

Address learning is another Prime Vision, R&D-led product that is making a positive contribution to error-rate reduction.  Essentially, this enables sorting systems to learn from decisions made during the assessment process rather than discard it.

Mark Ryder concluded: “Business is commonly driven by new products but it has also been gratifying to see continued demand for our core solutions too.  In particular, growth in the parcel market has prompted ongoing interest in our ParcelMatch platform as posts establish new sorting centres to handle the increasing volumes and improve logistics.”
