Prime Vision Australia – New facility, more staff

Prime Vision is expanding its Australian operations with the creation of an additional Sydney-based facility for the design and manufacture of automated systems.   The facility will enable Prime Vision to manufacture systems and machinery, commencing with the building of a new line of integrated systems solutions to be ready for export in the first and second quarters of 2013.

These machines will use Prime Vision’s PROCESS-IT platform, a part of Prime Vision’s OpenWorld technologies, which offers solutions for every degree of systems integration.

The initial production run of PROCESS-IT workstations will be configured as Image Lift Systems (ILS), to be utilized for sorting of registered mail items for a major postal operator.  However, the platform is highly flexible and can incorporate other modes of operation.  For example, it could include revenue recovery batch checks for postal operators or dimension weigh and scan (DWS) for couriers.

Prime Vision’s Australia office has been in operation since April 2011, serving the region under the guidance of General Manager Tom Ellis.  Commenting on the expansion he said: “This investment shows our confidence in the Australian market and enables us to support our clients and partners at a much higher level.”

The company is now ideally placed to meet demand from the ever-expanding Asia-Pacific region whose economic prosperity is forecasted to increase into the next decade.  And naturally Prime Vision will also be hiring new staff.  They will bolster the company’s capability in CAD, PLC and PC programming, assembly, installation & commissioning and project management.
