Operating revenues in the first half-year of 2016 were MNOK 12 406. The adjusted result (EBITE) amounted to MNOK 221, a decline of MNOK 93 compared with the first half-year of 2015.

EBITE in Q2 2016 was MNOK 203, an increase of MNOK 121 from Q2 2015.

„The improvement in Q2 is due to Easter being in Q1 this year. The Group has implemented a number of cost-reducing measures, which will give effect from Q2“ says Dag Mejdell, CEO of Posten Norge.

The Group’s operations outside Norway had operating revenues of MNOK 4 706 in the first half-year of 2016, MNOK 473 – or 11.2 % – higher than in the corresponding period of 2015. Revenues outside Norway accounted for 37.9 % of the Group’s total revenue, compared to 34.1 % in 2015.  Future collaboration between Bring and Danske Fragtmænd will focus on further improving distribution of international goods in and out of Denmark.

Private e-commerce continued to grow. The Group’s total e-commerce volume increased by 11 % in the first six months of this year. E-commerce from abroad had the strongest growth.

In the first half-year, the volume of addressed mail decreased by 10.6 % in Norway as a result of increased digitalisation. The most significant decline was in bank and financing, which declined by 21 %, and the public-sector which declined by 13 %. In the first half-year of 2016, the result for A-mail delivered overnight was 87.4 %, which is 2.4 percentage points better than the licence requirement.

Many companies now have a secure digital mailbox, and Posten’s Digipost is the preferred choice for more than 900 000 private individuals.

To continue to develop digital services and increase the number of customers of digital services, the Group became the majority owner of the digital design company Netlife Research in July.

Absence due to sickness for the past 12 months was 5.9 %, an improvement of 0.2 percentage points compared with the preceding 12 month period.
