UKP Worldwide invests into DES Worldwide

Lee Bucktrout Managing Director of UKP Worldwide (UKPW), the UK and US-based international mail and parcel delivery specialist, has invested into DES Worldwide(DESW). Founded in 2003 by Phil Coleman, DESW has established itself as an expert in handling complex international direct entry mail, customising international mailings to the local markets they are being sent. More recently, DESW has extended its reach beyond the wholesale market, developing new delivery options to ecommerce brands and retailers.

The investment into DESW will enable UKPW to add new parcel delivery solutions, and new and better international delivery routes to its existing ecommerce portfolio. Phil Coleman and his team have specialised in developing integrated end-to-end international solutions providing true added value for their retail customers. A key advantage for UKPW’S retailers will be access to DESW’s parcel tracking portal, PacketPort, which provides simple and straightforward collection, tracking, fully managed returns, accurate record keeping and reporting on ecommerce shipments. PacketPort has the significant benefit of being easily integrated into existing customer systems and providing  total control and transparency over shipments from door-to-door.

UKPW specialises in distributing direct mail, catalogues, magazines and ecommerce goods. The investment in DESW will help UKPW increase its share of the ecommerce market by combining expertise to provide a clear commercial advantage for customers who are seeking a competitively priced and better user experience for the despatch of their parcels.

UKPW has been working with a growing number of ecommerce clients delivering goods to the US, Mexico, Ireland, Australia and Europe. The company has an in-depth knowledge  of the US market through its US subsidiary and partnership with the United States Postal Service (USPS).  UKPW has the advantage of being an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) by HMRC, as well as ensuring  retailers export records are compliant for VAT reporting purposes  it also allows for faster custom clearance at local and overseas borders for outbound and returned goods, as well as proof of a secure and compliant supply chain for the protection of goods and information.

Lee Bucktrout, owner and Managing Director of UKP Worldwide, said: „My investment in DESW enables us to expand the very strong range of existing products and services we offer to businesses wishing to trade cross-border. This is a great opportunity for both businesses, DES is a strategic partner that complements our work in international parcel delivery services and will support us in capturing more opportunities and value in the rapidly growing  ecommerce market.“ To support UKP with its expansion Paul Taylor has been appointed to develop the company’s strategic activity in the mail and parcels market. Paul was previously with Spring Global Delivery Solutions and before that Swiss Post International.
