NetDespatch supports St Michael’s Hospice Venus Walk

NetDespatch has  worked in conjunction with local courier APC Hereford to help St Michael’s  Hospice with their fundraising efforts, by offering free services to deliver  over 400 parcels.

NetDespatch is an innovator and market-leader in  the provision of platform and software as a service solutions providing postal  and parcel carriers with intelligent web-based shipping management solutions,  seamlessly integrating their despatch operations with retailers, mail order  companies and manufacturers.

St Michael’s Hospice is an independent  charity based in Hereford that provides specialist care and support free of  charge to local people and their families, with 90 per cent of its funding  coming from the community.

The parcels, delivered by NetDespatch  customer APC Hereford, were sent to all of the ladies and girls involved in the  annual Venus Walk, a 10km walk around Hereford starting at midnight on a Friday  night raising money for the hospice.

Last year’s Venus Walk raised  £45,000 for the charity and it is hoped that this year’s total will top that  figure, helping towards their target of £4 million.

Bronze medal  Paralympian James Bevis was on hand to cut the tape and inspire participators  after his winning performance at London 2012.

St Michael’s Events  and Community Fundraising Manager, Jane Hemingway

said: “Our thanks must go the  wonderful ladies of Herefordshire and surrounding counties who have demonstrated  their generosity of spirit once again by participating in the biggest  fundraising event on the Hospice calendar. The buzz created by streets filled  with hundreds of walking women lasts long after the night is  over.”
